The Badagry Annual Cultural Festival 2013 kicked off on August 10th, the 15-day festival, celebrated freedom from the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, would was filled with numerous cultural activities.

The traditional rulers in Badagry dedicated the 2013 festival to Africans in Diaspora who contributed immensely to the liberation struggle. The 2013 festival celebrated Marcus Garvey a prominent Pan-Africanist. The festival saw 30,000 attendees.
